Young Voices member working for NYC

Having hard time to enter in the ground of NYCThe National Youth Commission (NYC), which is the government agency assigned for youth development programs, serves as the secretariat for the Government Internship Program (GIP), which started off as a summer work program for students and out-of-school youth. They receive 75% of the minimum wage.

Young Voices- Philippines referred three youth with NYC building is already accessible for wheelchair bound usersdisabilities for the GIP. At first, NYC offices were not accessible to persons with disabilities (PWDs), but now they have built a ramp for wheelchairs in their doorways to make it easier for PWDs to move around.

Last August 20, 2010, the NYC invited two youth with disabilities to attend their meeting called Joint Programme on Youth, Employment & Migraton (JP YEM),and the problems of youth with disabilities especially regarding employment were discussed.
